Do you leave your battery on trickle charge between rounds, or do you charge it up then disconnect and expect it to still be fully charged when you next want to play.

Asking, as today I've acquired a Powakaddy and two 36 hole batteries and I'm wondering how to keep both batteries in good nick with only one charger. I rarely use mine so charge the battery after use then again before I use it which could be weeks later.

Seems to work well, not had any issues.

Powakaddy Compact C2i. Joined Sep 3, Messages 4, I recently purchased a new Powakaddy Compact C2i trolley and after a couple of weeks use thought it deserved some feedback.

Now, with three lots of clubs and trolleys to fit in the car I was looking for something smaller folding to help with space. The Powakaddy C2i looked to be the best option.

At first glance it is a smart and sleek looking machine, the grey and yellow colourway look great and it does fold into a small "compact" size. The two lock fold action makes it very quick and simple to fold down to store or set up to use. The ultra thin lithium battery fits in and allows the trolley to fold down whilst staying in place, which sounds like a great feature, but does come with a couple of minor issues.

I did this on a couple more occasions before deciding that it was easier to remove the battery before packing the trolley down. As I write this, I'm guessing I could set the speed setting to "00", which may avoid the accidental starting, I haven't confirmed this, but it still doesn't get round the other minor issues.

Additionally, the battery can only be charged if it is removed from the trolley - it uses the same connector that plugs into the trolley, so again, needs to be removed to charge.

A smart move would be to put a charging connector on top as well, so that it could charge inline.

Essentially at present, I remove the battery before packing away which seems to defeat the object of having a sleek thin inline sitting battery. A more annoying issue I have is the size of the plate that the bag sits on. I don't know what Powakaddy were thinking here? Admittedly it was not something I looked at when deciding the purchase, after all I was using a Powakaddy deluxe cart bag and expected it to fit perfectly on a Powakaddy trolley.Many of our products come with extended guarantees, in order to take advantage of these extended guarantees the product needs to be registered within 30 days of purchase.

Most Lead Acid batteries seem to die in their second or third season and often without any apparent reason. Lithium Batteries have a longer warranty and last longer. Even batteries that are treated identically have different life spans. First check that the trolley is running well with no excessive noise and with the wheels running freely.

Secondly, have your charger checked to make sure that this is not the problem. You should always have your charger checked when replacing your battery. A faulty or unsuitable charger can ruin your battery in a matter of rounds.

Keep your battery on charge permanently. Keep the weight of your bag to a minimum. Do not do it. Draining a battery excessively will damage the capacity of the battery and the battery may never recover. Draining a Lead Acid battery to less than 8 volts means that the charger will not recover the battery and will invalidate warranty.

A compact model was all that was missing from the Powakaddy line-up so we were really keen to see it in action. One of the potential issues with a compact trolley is the number of folds which can ultimately add weight and inconvenience to the golfer. As with all our trolley reviews we feel the substantive part of the review takes place between the car and the first tee and then the 18th green back to the car and home.

Basically, performance out on the course is often a given. How it assembles, folds away and transports is really important. There are a few more small steps. We were given a quick demonstration and were easily able to do it ourselves.

Every part of the assembly process is smooth and gives you the impression it is a well-made, premium product. Out on the course, the trolley performs exceptionally well. The colour display is nice and clear with a very useful battery indicator.

Powakaddy and Warranty

After 18 holes the battery had about 40 per cent life left. It has a feature where you can tell it to go 10, 15, 20 yards etc… and then stop which is really useful when sending your trolley to the right side of the green and towards the next tee.

The Compact C2 basically has all the same features and screen as the FW5i trolley which has more bells and whistles than the FW3i but not quite as many as the flagship FW7s. This trolley has been quite a long time in the making. We got the sense from Powakaddy that they maybe could have released it earlier but wanted to make sure it was right on the money. It looks fantastic, works like a dream and will take a bit of the hassle out of transporting it to and from the course.

So easy to transport and store pic. There are a few other elements to the folding process. We reckon it can go from its compact state to fully assembled and vice-versa, in about eight seconds.

Thread starter balaclava Start date Aug 30, I am very disappointed with the Powakaddy Freeway Digital which I about 3 months back. I am disappointed because, after owning other electric trolleys and switching to Powakaddy the most expensive I thought I was buying a trolley from a company that had built upon years of experience to produce a piece of kit that was fit for purpose and a back-up system that included good after-sales service.

What's the problem? The centre of balance is wrong.

It tips over backwards on anything more than a modest incline. This is further compounded by a situation whereby occasionally I hit the 'go' button and it for reasons I don't know it has built up stored power causing it to lurch forward and tip over backwards. I know this is minor stuff but it seems to me that getting the centre of gravity right is basic stuff and Powakaddy trades on a reputation for the best. I presume others here have the same trolley and are experiencing the same problem? My bag is a Callaway Euro-Lite cart bag which is lighter than standard cart bags but it is a cart bag.

They contacted me later that day and informed me the screen was cracked and either I had used it on rough ground? Unfortunately this is not a fault on production, as it would have been visible when first receiving the trolley. I am sorry that I am unable to help you further in this matter.

It should be noted that I had to contact Powakaddy a number of times to get them to even reply. I am aware that Powakaddy have stopped producing this Model due to the number of problems.

I have attempted to contact Powakaddy by email since on numerous occasions but they simply ignore my contacts. To take it further under SOGA you now need to prove you didn't crack the screen, you will need an engineers report to state this and the reason for it being cracked. You can google the model number to see if it is a common problem, if so you have a better chance of success.

If it turns out to be rare, you will struggle and just have to accept your going to need to pay for the repair. It is possible it has taken a knock somewhere down the line, I know mine has.

My latest update is that I have examined the screen myself there are at leat 7 cracks all starting from the top of the screen. The plastic cover that you view the interior screen from shows no signs of damage at all. I have shown a photo to another Powakaddy Agent who states they agree that this is not owner abuse but as for Powakaddy agreeing is another thing.

Joined Mar 20, Messages I have to side with the agent on this one I'm afraid. He sent it away in January and has since received it back last week. The problem is the customer service at powakaddy, i have spoken to several agents and they all say the same thing that powakaddy are just terrible when it comes to warranty work. If it was a problem that the service agent could have repaired we wouldn't be having this conversation, they usually turn things around in a few days the problem seems to be if something has to go back to the factory.

Its really strange that Tanya doesn't know about my problems as its HER i've been dealing with for the last 3 weeks!!!!! The upshot is this - Powakaddy are not taking any responsibilty for the time taken to rectify my problem - 13 weeks!!

They are blaming the service agent and as a good will gesture are prepared to extend my warranty for three months. The quality of the customer services is apalling. I bought a brand new car and it only took 2 working days to arrive, in fact i bought a new build house and it only took 11 weeks for the whole process to conclude. I dont feel i'm being unreasonable in asking for compensation, I have spoken to several people at powakaddy and they all say that it is the decision of the directors.

So although I'm angry and disappointed, I'm not blaming the individual staff which i have told them also.
